The year is over!

Well.................3rd year is officially done and dusted! Collections handed in exams done and i am one happy fairie.
And here it is!!:

Im really quite happy with the outcome of my collection and i have to say my fav id this one of kashka. It was the last piece i did and knocked it up on my domestic at home so the quality of sewing wasnt my best but the fit is great and kashka love it cos it give her a butt!!


Still havnt managed to get any images from the fashion show but danii is bringing me the dvd before she goes off to NY for the summer!
I want to go to NYC soo badly.......still thinking about looking at thier post grad programmes but im still trying to fathum the system seams like a job for careers!

As for next year.......i dont know what to look at for my dissertation.........possible Lingrie but im not sure yet.

As for the right now......back to the getto to work......will afford my ipod touch soon... and catch up with friends Woop!!

What a Week!

What better way to chillax at 4.15 after work than to write a blog page!! I can hear the birds again very annoying!
Well it has been a very busy work in the land of me! It was the fashion show this week on tuesday and friday and as i was a dresser as well as a designer i had to be there for rehersals on monday. I also had a project to hand in friday so was far to busy to find the time to up date my lil 'blog book' as i am going to name you!
I think since this will end up a short one ( ill start to drift to sleep half way through so i apologise if zzzz apear!) i shall introduce one of my fav artists/illustrators and his new work.
Alex Pardees' art is just amazingly twisted and crazy and colourfull. I got into his work after he did the cover art for the used and love the idea of that one in particular tattood on me( the rope coming down my spine till the hear at the base of my back!)
I really like the sketchy way in which he draws and it riminds my style, although he is 7 million times better!!Pardee has also just release a preview of the art work for another fav artist but of the musical sense, Cage, and that why id thought id share.
This remids me of the cover art for my chem a little but that is possible the colours and the style.
I am very excited by the release of the new cage stuff and all the art work so i hope ill be able to get it over here.

Erwin Olaf

What a genius he is! I was aware of his work before i knew who he was and after some google stalking I have discovered i really like his work.

I had seen images from the Royal Blood series an i love how beautiful the model is contrasted with the blod and the slightly evil look across the eyes. I think the way that light and the exposure has been used to produce a very pale subject that almost merges into the background enhances the laseration across her chest making it the domenent feature.












These images are from a series called Fashion Victoms. I am a big fan of nude photography, art ect. I think if done correctly can be beautiful and the pose that the model is in determans the elegance and success of the piece. Olaf has taken all the aspects of this elegance and beauty and disgarded it and that is what make this series work. Olaf i guess is trying to make a statment that people can become so obsessed and perocupied with fashion and fashion brands that they will do anything to wear/have that brand, even if the results are ugly. These two pictures are typical of this where the models pose is graphic and not elegant and go against the grain of traditional nude photograpy, giving it the shock factor.

Happy First Day of Summer!!

Since its the first day of summer I thought I would attempt again to do this thing that is known as blog! This time round I am going to use this a tool for me to collect insperation and ideas for my final year project rather than for other ppl cos I gotta be honest I don't think anyone gives a dam what im doingsayingthinking!!

I will open this new blog with a band that i have just discovered: Beautiful by Design. I used to know the bassist and followed a link on his messenger name and their really good and i like the name!
